Biography
Harvey was born and raised in High Point, North Carolina where he lives today with his wife and two children. He is an associate in the firm’s office where he focuses on a variety practice areas.
Prior to attending law school, Harvey attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He graduated with highest distinction, named to Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society.
Since joining Scott Law Group in 2009, Harvey has handled cases ranging from all types of family law disputes, serious felony matters, personal injury and complex civil litigation. He has successfully represented clients in numerous jury and bench trials and has won cases in the North Carolina Court of Appeals, including pre-eminent, published opinions in the area of grandparents’ rights, and trust and estates litigation.
When someone is looking for an attorney, they want a person who will listen to their concerns with empathy and work to find a creative solution to their problems. While many people believe that going to court is the best way to resolve their case, it is often better for everyone involved to solve problems out of court. Harvey works to reduce conflict and to promote settlement where it is possible. However, if the situation calls for a courtroom appearance, Harvey is well-known for being a prepared, confident, and zealous advocate for his clients.
When Harvey is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and cheering on the North Carolina Tar Heels.
